Emergency Temporary Road Closure – Thurleigh Road, Milton Ernest

I have a request for an emergency temporary road closure at the above location to enable a protest to take place in safety. Details are listed in the schedule below and having assessed the application I am satisfied the request is justified.

The alternative routes for diverted vehicles are as shown below and will be signed accordingly. The restrictions are to be in operation only when the necessary signs are erected on site or when under the direction of a Police Officer. The Legal Notice will be made to cover a 5 day period; however, it is anticipated that the closure will be in operation between 4.00pm and 11.00pm on Saturday 7th May 2016.

Road: Thurleigh Road, Milton Ernest.

Length Affected: Between the A6 and Milton Road, Thurleigh/Thurleigh Road, Sharnbrook.

Application From: Bedfordshire Police – 01234 841212.

Reason: To enable a protest to take place in safety.

Date: The closure is anticipated to be in operation between 4.00pm and 11.00pm on Saturday 7th May 2016 – Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

Alternative Routes: Proceed in a northerly direction along the A6 to the roundabout adjoining Mill Road and Thurleigh Road, Sharnbrook. Take the 3rd exit and continue along Thurleigh Road, Sharnbrook, to site, and vice versa.

N.B. The applicant is responsible for taking down all Bedford Borough Council public notices immediately after the works requiring the Order have been completed.
