Emergency Temporary Road Closure – High Street, Riseley

I have a request for an emergency temporary road closure at the above location for urgent drainage work. Details are listed in the schedule below and having assessed the application I am satisfied the request is justified.

The alternative routes for diverted traffic are as shown below and will be signed accordingly. The restriction is to be in operation only when the necessary signs are erected on site. The Legal Notice will be made to cover a 21 day period; however, it is anticipated that the closure will be in operation between 8.00am and 6.00pm on up to 4 days from Tuesday 31st May 2016 to Friday 3rd June 2016.

Road: High Street, Riseley.

Length Affected: Between Keysoe Road and College Drive.

Reason: For urgent drainage work.

Dates: The closure is anticipated to be in operation between 8.00am and 6.00pm on up to 4 days from Tuesday 31st May 2016 to Friday 3rd June 2016 – Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

Alternative Routes: Proceed in a north-easterly direction along High Street, Riseley, then Swineshead Road, Riseley, and then Pertenhall Road, Swineshead, to High Street, Swineshead. Turn left and continue along High Street, Swineshead, then Melchbourne Road, Swineshead, and then Swineshead Road, Melchbourne, to Knotting Road, Melchbourne. Turn left and continue along Knotting Road, Melchbourne, then Melchbourne Road, Knotting, and then Knotting Green Road, Knotting, to the A6. Turn left and continue to the roundabout adjoining Thurleigh Road, Sharnbrook. Take the 1st exit and continue along Thurleigh Road, Sharnbrook, to North End, Bletsoe. Turn left and continue along North End, Bletsoe, then Riseley Road, Bletsoe, then Bedford Road, Riseley, and then High Street, Riseley, to site, and vice versa.

N.B. The applicant is responsible for taking down all Bedford Borough Council public notices immediately after the works requiring the Order have been completed.
