Proposed Temporary Road Closure – Bridgend, Carlton/Carlton Road, Harrold

I have a request for a temporary road closure at the above location for bridge strengthening and masonry replacement work. Details are listed in the schedule below and having assessed the application I am satisfied the request is justified.

The alternative routes for diverted traffic are as shown below and will be signed accordingly. The restrictions are to be in operation only when the necessary signs are erected on site. The Legal Order will be made to cover a four month period; however, it is anticipated that the closure will be in operation 24 hours a day from Monday 24th August 2015 to Friday 4th September 2015 – Specific dates will be advertised locally closer to the time.

Please Note: Due to the nature of the work it will not be possible for emergency service vehicles to go through this closure.

Reason: For bridge strengthening and masonry replacement work.

Length Affected: From Felmersham Road, Carlton, to High Street, Harrold.

Dates: The closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours a day from Monday 24th August 2015 to Friday 4th September 2015 – Specific dates will be advertised locally closer to the time – Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

Please Note: Due to the nature of the work it will not be possible for emergency service vehicles to go through this closure.

Alternative Routes: Proceed in a north-easterly direction along Felmersham Road, Carlton, and then Carlton Road, Felmersham, to Hunts Lane, Felmersham. Turn left and continue along Hunts Lane to Felmersham Bridge, Sharnbrook. Turn left and continue over Felmersham Bridge to High Street, Odell. Turn left and continue to Odell Road, Harrold. Turn left and continue to site, and vice versa.

N.B. The applicant is responsible for taking down all Bedford Borough Council public notices immediately after the works requiring the Order have been completed.
