Sharnbrook Christmas Fayre celebrated its 20th year in December 2014, having been a successful annual event for the local community. It has been held on the first Friday of December, which falls on December 4th this year. The initial aim and priority of the Fayre was to give the village businesses a chance to compete with the businesses in Bedford during the festive season.
Whilst Doug McMurdo will continue to arrange the setting up/taking down of Christmas Lights, a number of the Working Party have stepped down, and without more volunteers the event will not be able to go ahead this year.
A few members of the Working Party remain to manage the stalls in the Marquee and manage the finances, but the Working Party needs many more volunteers to share the organisation of the event, ideally including representatives from businesses in the village – past roles have included preparing programme of events for sale, Advertising, Santa’s grotto, tombola.
