Sharnbrook is a North Bedfordshire village located 9 miles north of Bedford, just off the A6 and to the north of the River Great Ouse where it meets the brook that gives the village its name. The village has its origins in Saxon times and the name is probably of Saxon origin ‘Sharnbrook’ means ‘dung brook’. The Domesday Book of 1086 holds the earliest recorded evidence of Sharnbrook.
The village has approximately 2000 residents and the main employer is Unilever Research which is based on the Colworth Business Park.
Meetings are held once a month usually on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Methodist Church from 7:45pm. There are no meetings in August. Anyone is welcome to attend. The November 2015 meeting will be held at St Peter’s Room, Stileman Way due to a previous booking at the Methodist Church.
